{"id":163,"date":"2010-02-26T16:42:35","date_gmt":"2010-02-26T19:42:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rockbot.upperland.net\/?p=163"},"modified":"2010-02-26T16:42:35","modified_gmt":"2010-02-26T19:42:35","slug":"yep-still-working","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rockbot.upperland.net\/?p=163","title":{"rendered":"Yep, still working"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[lang_pt-br]N\u00f3s ainda estamos trabalhando no beta4, a falta de not\u00edcias aqui no site \u00e9 apenas em raz\u00e3o de que estou de f\u00e9rias, por isso me concentro em aproveit\u00e1-la ao m\u00e1ximo, para descansar, me divertir e programar, mas temos v\u00e1rias novidades.<\/p>\n<p>A implementa\u00e7\u00e3o na game engine do Rockbot est\u00e1 indo muito bem, mas decidimos passar algumas funcionalidades previstas no beta4 para o beta5, encurtando um pouco o tempo de desenvolvimento para tentar fazer um beta por m\u00eas, por isso teremos mais vers\u00f5es antes do lan\u00e7amento da vers\u00e3o final, j\u00e1 que cada beta dever\u00e1 ter menos coisas. Esta decis\u00e3o tem como objetivo manter o foco nas funcionalidades realmente necess\u00e1rias e manter o c\u00f3digo mais est\u00e1vel entre cada vers\u00e3o, com corre\u00e7\u00f5es de bugs frequentes. Mas enfim, algumas das novidades j\u00e1 implementadas na engine s\u00e3o:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>color-cycling: esta t\u00e9cnica permite criar anima\u00e7\u00f5es ao alterar as cores da paleta da tela<\/li>\n<li>n\u00edvel 2 de tiles no mapa: permite criar tiles com partes transparentes<\/li>\n<li>n\u00edvel 3 de tiles no mapa: estes aparecem por cima do jogador, como nuvens, postes, etc.<\/li>\n<li>escadarias<\/li>\n<li>troca de tela: dividimos os mapas em pe\u00e7as menores, e quando o jogador chega em um ponto, um novo mapa \u00e9 carregado<\/li>\n<li>leitura de joystick por eventos: acelera bastante a vers\u00e3o de PS2<\/li>\n<li>corre\u00e7\u00e3o da SDL_Timer: permite usar basicamente os mesmos tempos de anima\u00e7\u00e3o em PC e PS2<\/li>\n<li>proj\u00e9teis (tiros) usando gr\u00e1ficos<\/li>\n<li>indica\u00e7\u00e3o de quando um jogador est\u00e1 trancando o movimento (troca de tela) do outro<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Est\u00e1 faltando ainda terminar a implementa\u00e7\u00e3o de carregar os npcs definidos pelo editor. Al\u00e9m disto, o editor em s\u00ed tem muitas funcionalidades que ainda precisam ser implementadas, como melhor edi\u00e7\u00e3o de NPCs, Zoom, definir ponto de in\u00edcio para o jogador 1 e 2. Ele ir\u00e1 passar a ser distribu\u00eddo junto com o jogo neste pr\u00f3ximo beta, mas tenha em mente que jogos criados em um beta n\u00e3o necessariamente funcionar\u00e3o no pr\u00f3ximo; apenas quando a vers\u00e3o final for lan\u00e7ada teremos uma estabilidade no formato de arquivos do mapa.<\/p>\n<p>\u00c9 isto, continuem nos acompanhando na jornada rumo a um jogo muito legal para todos os f\u00e3s de megaman por a\u00ed :)[\/lang_pt-br]<\/p>\n<p>[lang_en]We are still working in beta4, the lack of news here in the site, is just becaquse I am in vacation, so I focusing in enjoy it at it&#8217;s best, to rest, have fun and program, but we have several news anyway.<\/p>\n<p>The game engine implementation of Rockbot is going very well, but we decided to pass some functionalities from beta4 to 5, making the development time shorter, in a way to try to make a beta each month, that is way we&#8217;ll have more beta versions before the final version launch, once each beta will have less stuff on it. This decision comes with the goal to keep focus in the functionalities that we really need and keep the code more stable between each beta, with bug fixing more often. But in resume, some already implemented features are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>color-cycling: this technique allow us to create animations by swapping colors in palette<\/li>\n<li>tileset level2: allow to create tiles with transparent parts<\/li>\n<li>tileset level 3: those are shown over players, like cluds, trees, etc;<\/li>\n<li>staircases<\/li>\n<li>screen swapping: we divide the maps in smaller pieces, and when the player reaches a point, a new map is loaded<\/li>\n<li>joystick reading using events: makes PS2 version much faster<\/li>\n<li>correction in SDL_Timer: allow us to use same timings from PC version<\/li>\n<li>projectiles (shots) using graphics<\/li>\n<li>indication of when a player is holding the other one (screen swap)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We are still missing finish the implementation of loading NPC defined by the editor. Besides that, the editor itself have lots of things that still need to be worked, like better NPC editing, Zoom, setting the starting point for P1 and P2.
